Procedures

There are a number of steps involved in producing a computer program. Do not be put off by these procedures - for a small program many of them can be done quite quickly.

By following these procedures we ensure that your program does what you want, and is produced as efficiently as possible.

Initial Consultation

You tell me what you want the program to do. I will tell you whether it is feasible. There is no charge for this consultation.

Application Overview

We prepare an Application Overview which summarises our consultation and sets out what the program will do. At this stage we also provide a firm quote for preparation of the Business Requirements and an estimate of the total cost of writing the program. There is no charge for preparing this document.

First Review

You review the Application Overview and make any changes or discuss them with us. At this stage we should both have the same understanding of what the program does. There is no charge for any discussions or amendments to the Application Review arising from this process.

Next Steps

What happens next depends upon a number of factors including

  • the size of the application
  • the complexity of the application
  • the type of the application
  • your own personal preferences

If you look through our programming articles you will get a feel for how these factors affect the building of your application.
